Due to an intense and large swell that is forecast for Llandudno Beach, Cape Town on Sunday, the 2015 RVCA Rolling Retro has had to be postponed for a week. The Rolling Retro surf spectacular was supposed to take place this Sunday, the 22nd of February but is now rescheduled for the 1st of March.
The Rolling Retro organisers not only have a duty of care for the safety of the general public and participants at the event, but also have to take into consideration the vintage surfboard collection that is lent out to the participants. Many of the boards are irreplaceable and an important part of surfing history in South Africa and are supplied each year by Vudu Surf.
The surf for this Sunday is currently predicted to peak at around 3 metres with a 14 second period, and while perfect conditions for some, certainly not ideal for a family event. However, it now means that anticipation and excitement can continue to build for another week!
