A heart-warming story of a 5-year-old girl who has beaten leukemia and gone on a surf trip to La Jolla California has caught our eye this morning. Little Ella Gamble was struck down by cancer when she was only two years old and it was during her chemotherapy sessions that she saw a Disney film called ‘Teen Beach’, instantly she knew she wanted to be a surfer girl.
It was the charity Make-A-Wish San Diego who helped make Ella’s dream come true and organised a trip for Ella and her family to travel from New Jersey to La Jolla, to join surf lessons with Surf Diva Surf School. Ella who has been in remission since June took to the waves like a duck to water and was soon enjoying the surf.
