In windy conditions, Fistral Beach played host to the final surf events for Boardmasters 2015 and it was a day for the visiting surfers. In less than perfect conditions, it was Alice Lemolgne and Edouard Delpero who took the wins in the WSL Longboard competitions. In the Men’s Open presented by Carve, Hodei Collazo edged the win over Luke Dillon and Edouard Delpero, who was contesting both the shortboard and longboard competitions.
Up at the Watergate Festival site the revellers soaked up the final days entertainment and the whole crowd seemed up for a party. It was Bastille who closed proceedings on the main stage as they made up for the disappointment of last year, when they missed out on the final nights headline slot because of ex hurricane Bertha. The whole site seemed to be tingling with nervous excitement as Bastille took to the stage, and they certainly didn’t disappoint the eager fans.
And so the sun sets on another Boardmasters, and the general opinion from the revellers we have spoken to, is that this year has been the ultimate Boardmasters. The weather has been kind, the action at Fistral has been incredible and the variety and calibre of music at Watergate has surpassed previous years. The festival organisers have certainly set themselves a mammoth task for Boardmasters 2016. Feel free to share your memories of Boardmasters 2015 and let us know who your own highlights for this years festival.
