Andy Joyce is a keen paddleboarder and the director of Surf Steps, a surf and SUP school based in Bournemouth, who has been selected to represent Great Britain at the International Surfing Association World Championships in May. To enable him to attend the games in Mexico, Andy is appealing to the Paddleboarding community for help in raising funds through Crowdfunder.co.uk to help towards the costs of getting himself and his gear to the competition.
The ISA World Paddleboard Championships have a waiting period from the 10th to the 17th of May and Andy will be representing the UK in the SUP racing category. Andy is seeking funding of £1000 to help with the costs of flights and the cost of getting a 12’6″ race paddleboard to Mexico and in return for any money pledged, there are a range of rewards for any backers. For a pledge of £10 Andy will feature your name on his board, paddle or clothing, whereas a £400 pledge will get you one of Andy’s autographed paddles from the championships.
At the time of writing Andy has already raised £310 through 10 backers and has 37 days remaining on the campaign. Andy’s Crowdfunder video is featured below this article and to throw your weight behind him and to get involved you can make your pledge at the official Crowdfunder page here. We would to like to wish Andy and the rest of the GB SUP Team the best of luck in May and feel free to add your own messages of support below.
