The Boardmasters Festival has well and truly established itself as a major summer event not just for the surfing crowd, but for music fans and beach lovers alike. This year sees the Festival return between the 6th and 10th of August and will feature at Newquay’s most famous beaches, Fistral and Watergate Bay. Guaranteed to get Newquay bouncing, the first of the line-up acts have been announced this week.
Music aficionados will be pleased to hear that in the first announcement of performers, Chase and Status and Bastille will be headlining the main stage at Watergate. Other acts confirmed include George Ezra, The Cuban Brothers, Reel Big Fish and Ben Pearce to name but a few. DJ’s also booked to appear include DJ Ez, DJ Golden Boy and Toyboy and Robin.
Mind you, it is not all about the music and there will be loads of other events on offer with something for everyone to enjoy. Budding Surf rippers will be able to try their hand with some lessons on the main beach or the less energetic will be able to browse the Surf Art that will be displayed at both beaches. Fistral will also be hosting BMX and Skate competitions, whilst Watergate will have a fairground to enjoy and must visit Keg and Pasty Pub!
