Those of you off to Boardmasters this year will be pleased to hear that the UK’s biggest surf festival will be a part of the World Surf League qualifying series again, meaning you will get to see the UK’s elite surfers competing on home turf against some of the best professional surfers trying to qualify for the Championship Tour. Fistral will play host to the Boardmasters Men and Women’s Longboard events, as well as the Men and Women’s Open.
Festival goers will be able to watch the competition unfold over five days at Fistral, from Wednesday 10th of August, through to Sunday the 14th, and will be able show their support for the likes of Jobe Harris, Ben Skinner and Luke Dillon. As well as being able to soak up all the surfing action, visitors to Newquay will also be able to immerse themselves in the beachside shopping village and watch the skateboard an BMX events unfold.
As well as the surf competitions at Fistral, there will be plenty going on up at the Watergate Bay site, with Chase & Status, James Bay, Kaiser Chiefs and Jamie Lawson just a few of the acts that have caught our eye. Full details of all the confirmed acts, surfing competitions and tickets can be found at the official Boardmasters website.
Which UK surfers would you like to see into the finals at Fistral and what act are you most desperate to see at Watergate?
