Since reporting live from site that Boardmasters 2014 was to be cancelled on Sunday due to the effects of Hurricane Bertha, we have been bombarded with disappointed attendees asking about refunds. There has been a lot of frustration over the time taken by event organisers to explain exactly what ticket holders are entitled too and how they go about making a claim. Finally Boardmasters have confirmed they will be issuing refunds and the process to getting some reimbursement.
An official announcement has just been made on the Boardmasters website that in a nutshell, whatever you laid out for your Sunday ticket, you will be getting it back. Boardmasters are extremely apologetic and explain fully why the process of sorting out refunds has taken 3 days to put in place. So, if you paid for a 3 day ticket you will be getting 1/3rd of your money back. If you paid for a day ticket you will receive the full amount back.
The tiering system is very complicated and for best information on exactly what you are entitled to and how to go about getting your hands on your money then you need to look at the official Boardmasters refund page here. If you paid direct with a debit or credit card then you are sitting pretty, but it will be a bit more of a “run a round” for those paying by cash or through 3rd parties.
As far as we are concerned Boardmasters made the right decision at that time and with the conditions we were seeing first hand and we think their refund offer is spot on the button. Also for those of you that had such a good time that you want to be a part of Boardmasters 2015 then there is an early bird offer running that is offering VIP tickets at a fantastically reduced price of £152.50 and will run between 6th and 9th of August 2015. All that is left to say now is roll on Boardmasters 2015 and you can bet your life Surf Report will be there!
