We all know Ireland gets good waves, its no secret anymore and there have been a lot of video clips from all corners of the Emerald Isle over the last few years. However there hasn’t been any quite as good as the one we have for you today. Oceanic Acid, filmed by Peter Clyne and featuring Cain Kilcullen is one that you will be watching over and over again.
The opening sequences are quite unlike anything we have ever seen, they feature Cain, taking on a tidy little slab break, at night, and with some very clever time-lapse footage meshed in with the real time surfing. Seeing the time lapsed night sky and stars passing over Cain whilst slotted in a barrel is genius.
With a delightful electro/traditional blend of Irish folk music by The Olllam, the 4-minute clip couldn’t really be any better. It isn’t all about clever editing; the video also features some waves of consequence and other delightful Irish spots. Between Peter and Cain, the pair have created a masterpiece and we can’t think of a better way to waste away a few minutes of this beautiful day.
The clip can be found below, take a look and let us know what you think of the night scenes and the time lapse filming.
