Clark Little is a name that is synonymous with Suring the world over, not for his wave riding skills but for his unbelievable talent with a camera in some insanely extreme conditions. Clark has been delighting millions of people, the world over with images of waves and beachbreak captured from right at the heart of the breaking wave.
The only way Clark can get the pictures that thrill us all so much, is to put himself in the impact zone of some of the heaviest waves on the planet, and with such risk also comes great reward. Standing in knee deep water with shorebreak 4 times overhead dumping onto you, comes with a fair amount of danger and in the video below Clark recalls accidents with the camera housing as well as separating his shoulder in one instance.
I would be very surprised if there are many in the surfing Community who haven’t heard the name Clark Little, his images grace our magazines and regularly do the rounds on social media, but it is nice to hear Clark talk in his own words about how he found his way into Surf photography and how he was catapulted into the limelight over night.
Check out the clip below of Clark talking about his love of the shorebreak and photography, and see how he puts himself on the line for that perfect shot. Let us know if you have enjoyed the work of Clark Little and would you be prepared to lay on the sand as a monster wave approached to get that one picture?
