As far as sand bottomed pointbreaks go, Skeleton Bay has to be just about the finest one on the planet. The perfect break on the Namibian coast has become renowned for its endless barrels that churn their way alone the beach and THE place to snag yourself the tube of a lifetime. It also has to be one of the “must surf” waves in the world.
One lucky punter who has ticked it off his bucket list and scored one of the longest barrels we have seen is Dale Staples, who recently scored Skeleton bay on fire and captured his epic session for all to enjoy on his GoPro HD Hero 3+.
The 7-minute clip can be found below during which Dale recounts the session and the waves he managed to bag on the day. The GoPro brilliantly captures the rides Dale had, and the video shows him dipping in and out many barrels and constantly being chased and passed by the spit from the ensuing foam ball.
Is Skeleton Bay one of the spots you want to tick off in your lifetime and whats the longest tube ride you’ve ever managed?
