If you have ever finished a paddle or surf to find oil or dirt on your wetsuit or deck pad, a new Deck Pad Cleaner has hit the market and is the answer to cleaning and refreshing grimy suits and equipment. DPC – Deck Pad Cleaner is a biodegradable and non-toxic product that cuts through the muck and lifts it from the substrate, and is environmentally friendly.
Priced at $16.95 a bottle, DPC is said to remove, oil, wax, blood, grime, urine, slime, bird droppings and suntan cream – all stuff that I have had at some time or other, on me or my boards! DPC is extremely simple to use, after wetting the board, deck pad or wetsuit, spray on the DPC and gentle scrub with a soft bristled brush. Continue to work the brush into any creases or problem areas as you rinse off with clean water.
As DPC is free rinsing, there will not be any residues left on your gear afterwards and it will also work with salt water, should you find yourself on a trip somewhere without free running fresh water. Many a time I have found oil marks on my deck pad on the Paddleboard and never before had a solution to remove it without using an aggressive cleaner to break it down – DPC now alleviates that problem.
You can purchase DPC Deck Pad Cleaner, direct from Onit Surf Products; they will ship internationally and offer many other SUP products including wax and a friction reducing cream to increase board speed.
