After what seems like an eternity Bodyboard fans await the next stage of the APB Tour to get underway later this week, with the second stop on this years calendar set to play out between 25th July and the 3rd of August. We expect to see the event kicking off in the latter part of this 10 day window, as the swell forecast is looking pretty dire for the next week out in Itacoatiara.
Now the football has finally come to an end we can concentrate on the Itacoatiara Pro 2014 and look forward to seeing the sports brightest talent take on the awesome beach break. We can’t wait to see Tanner McDaniel in action alongside the big boys following his last minute inclusion as an APB Wildcard.
Three local lads have also been given the chance to make a name for themselves, these are Gugu Barcellos, Guilherme Correa and Dudu Pedra who have been selected as local Wildcards and know the break like the back of their hands. We hope beyond hope that a sizeable swell arrives as the beach break at Itacoatiara can handle swells of up to 15 feet and after such a wait for this event it seems unfair on spectators, fans and competitors to play it out in 2-3ft surf.
As yet there is no word from the APB as to whether we will be lucky enough to get a live streaming of the event, and we sincerely hope we do, even if it is only the final days action, as in the case of the Pipeline Pro, that saw Ben Player crowned the winner. In case you can’t wait for the event to get underway we have embedded two Itacoatiara Pro teaser videos below just to get you in the mood. Make sure you let us know who you think will take the crown at this year’s competition?
