In 2014 a group of Californian skimboarders hit the road on a journey of discovery, to explore the flatland possibilities of Canada and Washington. As well as the many great skimboarding opportunities, the group also made many friends and partied hard and have documented their adventures in a full-length movie called Goon.
The film took two years to put together and the resulting movie has captured life on the road with honesty, and features some momentous slams and plenty of non skim related party scenes. Filmed with the rawness of skate movies or the Tension series of bodyboard films, Goon follows the crew as they destroy rails, obstacles and ramps and stamp their authority on the new found territory.
Featuring the likes of Paradise Luke, Dallas Kingsbury, Beau Thomas, Mike Finneran and produced by Derek Popple you can check out the Goon skimboard movie below. Be warned there are signs of a sexual nature, swearing and drug references. Let us know what you think of Goon- is it about time Flatlanding had its own feature length film?
