Last month we revealed the release of the GoPro Hero 4, that finally went on sale this weekend, to great expectations. To coincide with the GoPro 4 hitting the shelves, there has also been the announcement that a great looking entry level GoPro camera, has also gone on sale and is simply called Hero. Hero has a retail price of £99 or $129.99 and will be seen as a direct competitor to the Polaroid Cube.
Enclosed in a waterproof housing, Hero features 1080p30 and 720p60 video and will snap 5 frames a second, recording 5MP pictures. Photo modes include Burst mode, Time Lapse and QuikCapture mode, that allows you to simply turn on the camera and shoot straight away.
A far cry from the early GoPro models, Hero also includes Auto Low Light Mode, where the camera will adjust frame rates and capture the optimum shot in any light. With wide angle lens, built in microphone and weighing in at just under 4 ounces, Hero is a lot of camera at a little price.
