Today we bring you a dramatic video of a daring rescue by a couple of Bodyboarders, who came to the help of a stranded third party in some heavy looking shorebreak. There is no doubt in our mind the poor soul being swamped by the crashing waves could have died had the two friends not intervened.
The spot where this all happened has not been revealed and all we know is that it was somewhere in the Cape Town region of South Africa. It certainly looked as though the crew were scoring some great waves in the surging conditions when the unfortunate rider got smashed by a heavy one and apparently lost his board whilst also suffering concussion.
Luckily, he was spotted quickly by Wilder Schultz and Aden Kleve (what cool names for these superheros) and the two sprang into action. Aden managed to quickly catch a wave to the inside and expertly manhandled the guy onto his Bodyboard and somehow even managed to score a pretty decent wave to the inside. Aden was soon joined by Wilder and the pair managed to get themselves and the concussed rider to shore safely.
Bodyboarders can sometimes come in for a bit of stick, but there is no denying that in this situation the two of them proved to be a formidable pair and acted selflessly and with pure guts. This video also serves as a timely reminder of the importance of learning some basic water safety skills and always Surfing with a buddy in the water with you.
