If you are one of the many Bodyboard fans who missed the APB Pipe Challenge final or complained about the quality of the live webcast you may want to catch up with all the action that went down on the 25th of February in what could be described as average conditions by Pipe’s standards. There was nothing average about the quality of the riding and the clip below this post features the worlds best in both the Men’s and the Junior Finals.
The video showcases riding by many of the finest Bodyboarders including the youngest ever world champion, the now bearded Andre Botha, some fine lines drawn by Frenchman Pierre Louis Costes and the powerful style of Jeff Hubbard. Mike Stewart also shows exactly why age is no barrier and why he should still be competing at the highest level with a lovely spin under the lip and then follows up with a classy combo wave.
Watching the Junior Pro final and the confidence and competence of these young riders you cannot help but think the sport is some very safe hands. Competing in slightly bigger and definitely messier conditions than the Men, the juniors display power and skills beyond their years, with the sickeningly talented Tanner McDaniel convincingly grabbing the title.
Filmed and edited by R T Serikawa and with Go Pro footage from Happy Zurowski this little snippet is a great way to catch up or refresh yourself with the final days action from the Pipe Challenge. Enjoy the video below and let us know if you have found any other good clips from this years Pipe event.
