The latest episode of Who is J.O.B has been released and gives us an insight into exactly what Jamie O’Brien and his buddies get up to, when then is no Surf on the North Shore. One thing that is very apparent is that the crew definitely have vivid imaginations and are constantly thinking up new ways to risk injury and get the adrenaline pumping.
The video starts, with the boys making their own bungee rope, woven together with thin strands of elastic rope in preparation for leaping off the Wahiawa Bridge headfirst in a homemade Bungee jump. The unfortunate nominee turns out to be Poopie, who has the rope attached his ankle using Surfboard leashes, before launching headfirst into the river below.
Kitted out in a pair of banana hammocks he makes the jump only to find the chord is of little use until he hits the water, when it lifts he back just enough to keep his head at river level! Undeterred he then takes the stunt one-step further by bravely jumping from the apex of the bridge.
The action then moves to Beaver Creek, where the bungee sees more action, this time dragging the victims down a homemade slide and over an insanely steep kicker. Incredibly even the girls are up for a bit of this, and there are some pretty heavy wipeouts suffered, as well as some huge airs and impressive flips completed.
Yet again, proof enough that whenever Jamie is in town, there is never a dull moment, but are you getting bored of seeing highly paid athletes acting as though they are part of the Jackass team? Surely as a professional Surfer Jamie should let his Surfing do the talking and is it irresponsible to risk injury basically playing games, when he has a responsibility to his sponsors and fans to perform his best in the Surf?
