As 2015 draws to a close and all eyes turn towards the Billabong Pipe Masters with the promise of a thrilling climax to the season, the World Surf League have announced the order of play for the 2016 Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour. Surprisingly, the stops and running order remain unchanged and the season will get underway from March 10th on the Gold Coast with the Quiksilver Pro.
Following Mick Fanning’s widely publicised shark attack at the J-Bay Open earlier this year, there were many who thought the WSL may drop Jeffrey’s Bay from the tour, but we are pleased to be able to confirm the popular stop has been re-confirmed for July. The WSL have also added North Point as a contingency site for the Margaret River Pro and if we get to see similar conditions to this years event, North Point will prove an excellent addition.
The full 2016 event schedule can be downloaded here whilst the men’s championship event dates can be seen below, we would love to hear what you consider to be the best stop on the tour, are there any you would change if the decision was yours and who are you predicting to take the win next month At Pipe?
