News broke this morning, via Jeff Hubbard’s Instagram page that he was involved in accident at Black Rock yesterday, in which he suffered a broken bone in his foot. In a statement on his Instagram page Jeff explains that he has broken his Talus bone and will be out of action until at least July 2015.
Apparently the 3 times world champion was performing an air reverse at the spot in New South Wales when he placed his foot down too early in the rotation and he slammed his foot into dry rock. The result was a break to the Talus, which is a posh Latin name for ankle bone. Jeff also released a set of pictures of the affected right ankle and they show quite clearly the obvious swelling.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Jeff is already planning some work at Hubboards after a bit of rest and you can be sure he will bounce back twice as strong. Good luck to Jeff with the recovery and we look forward to seeing you back in the water as soon as possible. Have you ever broken any bones whilst Bodyboarding? Feel free to leave any good will messages for Jeff below.
