Next time you are moaning about the lack of swell and the small waves, remember the size of your board counts more than the size of the swell. Small waves needn’t mean a rubbish time in the sea, in fact with the right amount of foam in your board you can catch more waves than on a 6 foot day and you can certainly do it with a lot more style. That is exactly what Joel Tudor demonstrates in today’s featured video, as he shuffles his twinkle toes around his longboard.
Joel demonstrates a laid back and very accomplished style as he cross steps his way back on forth on his board in the Californian sunshine. A master of the Hang Ten Joel makes it all look very easy in this clip and he rides every wave into the shallows milking every last bit from each one.
The video, simply called Joel has been put together by Adam Burns and is a nice edit, although I’m not sure the music particularly fitted the Surfing on show. Let us know if in this recent hot weather and with the swell not at its best have you been cracking the Longboard out and practising your Quasimodo?
