A few weeks back, we brought you news of a new Surf App called Johnny on the Spot, that was appealing for funding support via Kickstarter, we are now pleased to tell you that the campaign was successful and the App has officially been launched today. This new and essential App, will help you document every Surf and should be in every wave riders toolbag now and will become as important to you as the Surf forecasting App already in your smart phone.
Basically Johnny on the Spot is designed to be used as a personal diary for Surfers and it will allow you take a photograph of the waves at each session and all the data that has helped to create that particular Surf (wind, swell and tides) will be overlaid to the picture. This means you have an accurate and perfect record of each individual Surf and can soon build your own personal database, allowing you to record and master local Surf prediction.
It is important to stress that Johnny on the Spot is all about YOUR session and YOUR local spots, the information gathered is personal to you and for you only, there is no need to worry about your favourite secret spot having the lid blown off it, it is not an App that acts as a Surfing guide for the masses.
The Johnny on the Spot App is available now to download for FREE over at the App Store and we have been told that an Android App is currently being developed and will be available soon. The Surf-Report team will be downloading today and will be getting to grips with JOTS over the next couple of weeks, and will be following up with a review shortly.
Congratulations go out to the team that have worked on this, campaigned for funding and managed to get it to the App store and we look forward to creating our own personal diaries. Check out the Johnny on the Spot video below and get yourself over to the App store and get downloading now! Make sure you let us know how you get on and what you think of this latest Surf App?
