Here at Surf Report we love throwing our weight behind Kickstarter projects and one that has tickled our fancy this week is a plea for funding from none other than Kai Lenny himself, to help bring The SUP Movie to fruition. We are being promised the most progressive Stand Up Paddleboard movie ever and with most of the footage already in the bag, the money being sought is to be used to pay for the music rights for the soundtrack they are hoping to use.
Starring Kai, Kody Kerbox, Zane Schweitzer, Izzi Gomez and Noa Ginella the film includes some of the best and most radical SUP riders out there at this moment in time, who have been scoring some huge barrels, pulling some ridiculous turns and punting massive airs. The footage has been captured from spots all over the globe and the pledge video, (which can be seen below), sets the scene perfectly and will leave you excited and wanting more.
There are various levels of funding being sought, everything from $1, which will earn you a digital high five, whereas a $10 000 injection will see you and 5 friends get to take a lesson with Kai, a new Paddleboard, a trip to the premier and a meal with Kai and other stars from the movie as well as 10 gift boxes including T-shirts and a blue ray DVD of the The SUP Movie. There is a pledge option for every budget and at the time of writing Kai is nearly halfway to his $25 000 goal with 27 days to go.
The official Kickstarter pledge video and a teaser that shows exactly what The SUP Movie has to offer is embedded below, and to see more about the project or to make your own pledge then get yourself over to the Kai Lenny’s Kickstarter page here. What do you think of this progressive movie idea and are you likely to help support The SUP movie to help bring it to a reality?
