It was way back in September last year when we first reported that Kelly Slater was branching into the fashion business and launching a new surf brand called Outerknown with the promise of sustainability and style. Other than a couple of brief mentions about the team he was putting together and working with, Kelly has kept things pretty close to his chest and Outerknown has remained somewhat of a mystery. Earlier today we received notification that Outerknown will finally launch next week, mid July 2015.
Although an exact date hasn’t been specified, the launch was originally scheduled for the autumn 2015. The email announcement we received earlier came with the message ‘Thanks for your patience, we’ve been hard at work & our collection is almost ready.’ The Outerknown collection has been designed with the guidance of John Moore, the 2015 GQ Best New Mens Designer and Stab Mag have revealed a preview of the range.
The collection includes everything from beanies to board shorts and t-shirts to puffa jackets, but as yet no prices have been revealed.
