Back in March 2011 a guy named Zoltan Torkos cost Volcom $10 000 when he became the first ever person to pull off a kickflip on a Surfboard and capture it on film. On a waist high wave he cleanly and accurately nailed the insanely difficult manoeuvre and instantly wrote his name in the history books as well as collecting the prize money offered by the global clothing company.
Well, not one to rest on his Laurels, Zoltan has been at it again and has now become the first person to complete a kickflip on a Surfboard whilst riding the wake from a boat! The boat in question is a Super Air Nautique G23, a ferocious monster of a craft and widely regarded as one of the finest wake boats on the market.
The attached video takes a little while to get going but stick with it, it is worth the wait. Zoltan tick tacks and pumps like mad along the wake wave and attempts the trick a couple of times before he finally lands it. At times it looks pretty sketchy as Zoltan falls down onto his board with the fins upward, and he’s lucky not to come down on top of them.
To see Zoltan pull off the elusive kickflip, check out the video below. What do you reckon? Is there a place in surfing for this kind of trick and what would be the next one you would like to see Zoltan take on?
