Just last month we revealed that big wave surfer, Laird Hamilton is to launch a clothing range and we were left pondering what other projects he might lend his hand to. As it happens, it turns out that Laird is a self confessed coffee connoisseur and has his own Superfood Premium Coffee brand.
According to the Laird Superfood website, Laird has studied the art of growing, picking, roasting and packaging high quality coffee and has incorporated the drink into his daily dietary regime. Alongside the Premium Coffee, Laird has also introduced a Superfood Coffee creamer, containing Cordyceps mushroom, coconut milk powder, dried organic coconut nectar, red palm oil and Aquamin
To ensure that every berry selected for Laird’s Superfood Coffee is perfectly ripe, the berry’s are all picked by hand before being slow roasted and then packed using an inert gas, ensuring the coffee remains as fresh as the moment it was roasted. The whole process is extremely time consuming, meaning a pouch of Laird Fair Trade Coffee will set you back $12 (around £8).
If the picture of Laird above is anything to go by, it certainly looks as though the coffee has a kick! Have you tried Laird’s coffee, are you prepared that much for your daily caffeine hit and do you think Laird is more interested in business ventures than surfing these days?
