The Golfboard looks here to stay with the announcement of the worlds first ever Golfboard tournament, due to be held over the 29th and 30th of May at Tetherow in Bend Oregon. Golfboard co-founder and big wave legend Laird Hamilton will also be at the event not only promoting his ‘Surf the Earth’ concept but also taking part in the inaugural Golfboard tournament.
The event is open to anyone with an active USGA handicap and will be a great opportunity to meet Laird and try the Golfboard in person. Entry to the event costs $195, which will give you the use of a Golfboard whilst you play out 18 holes and includes an arrival party, awards and prize ceremony as well as food and drink. The winner of the Golfboard Invitational will also take home their very own Golfboard.
Anyone interested in attending the event should take a look at the Tetherow Resort website where you can also secure accommodation for the weekend and hire a Golfboard for any round of golf for just $20. Will you be attending the event in Oregon and do you think the revolutionary new board should be confined to the fairways or is Laird missing a trick and he should be promoting them for use everywhere?
