An interesting video has shown up this week entitled SUP with the Pros (the real way) and this immediately caught our eyes. We thought that it was going to feature a gaggle of talented Paddleboarders showing off and producing big tricks and airs to delight us all. Instead, the clip is an instructional video on how to get started with the basics of riding a Sup and it is definitely memorable – for all the wrong reasons!
The clip is presented by a SUP expert by the name of Rod Mentor who promises to help you learn to avoid whirlpools, release your spirit animal and how to apply wax to the tail of the board and the rails to aid with “dunk” dives! Learning how the ancient Columbians lifted the boards is particular useful and a move I expect to see widely in use this summer!
Produced by FrugalBackpacker.com, Rod is the perfect teacher to take you through this tongue in cheek guide to starting out in the world of SUP and if you stick to his warm up routine and no handed paddling you will have mastered the art of Paddleboarding in no time! Quite why Rod has produced this spoof video is a mystery but it is certainly amusing and has some pretty quirky ideas in it! Right I’m off to wax the tail of my SUP – Mahalo!
