Back in February 2014 we reported on a motorised surfboard called the JetSurf, that was turning heads and with it’s inbuilt jet engine and could reach speeds of 57mph. We then ran a story of Kai Lenny riding Jaws on his JetSurf board, proving the board was not a simple flash in the pan, but had serious wave riding capabilities. The latest person to be spotted on a Jet Surf Motorized Surfboard is Lewis Hamilton who uploaded a picture on Twitter of him enjoying the board in some rare downtime.
Fresh from his win at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Lewis was letting off some steam on the jet engined surfboard and looked extremely confident on the board. The comment to accompany his JetSurf picture read ‘Perfect day to be on the water! Love being home, but the waters still freezing!! #JetSurf‘
We have no idea if Lewis is a keen JetSurf rider or if it was simply a publicity stunt or a board on loan from JetSurf themselves, but it is another example that these boards are serious contenders and are beginning to catch on more and more. Do you think Lewis Hamilton looks comfortable on his JetSurf board or should he stick to winning in his Mercedes F1 car and have you managed to try a JetSurf for yourself yet?
