We have featured many young Surfers who have impressed us with skills well beyond their years, but until today we haven’t featured any young Stand Up Paddleboarders. There is one young lad who has caught our eye and we thought the Surf Report followers would be interested to see Miles Harvey confidently pulling of a body varial 180 to switch shuv-it on The Scout Wave in Salida Colorado.
Miles is only 12 years old and is already sponsored by Badfish SUP, and when you watch the video below you will soon see why. I have to be honest and say that I wasn’t even sure what a body varial 180 to switch shuv-it exactly was, so was intrigued to find out. Actually watching the clip, it becomes self explanatory and Miles proves it is no fluke by nailing the trick over and over again.
Riding a static river wave is tricky enough but jumping into a switch position and then forcing the SUP round in a shuv-it takes an incredible amount of strength and confidence. We would wager that there aren’t many of our followers capable of nailing this trick, make sure you let us know if you can and are there any other young SUP riders you think we should feature? Hats off to Miles for this impressive little clip and his skill on his Paddleboard.
