Whilst the swells hitting Hawaii recently haven’t been big enough to call on the Eddie Aikau Challenge and the Pe’ahi challenge hangs in the balance, there have still been waves big enough to get the Big Gun Paddleboards out on. The Naish Paddleboard team, comprising of Kody Kerbox, Michi Schweiger and Robby Naish have been enjoying some big swell at the spot of Lanes on Maui’s North Shore.
Lanes is a lefthand point break wave that, when it’s on provides a long wall, perfect for the SUP and also enjoyed by windsurfers too. Whilst not the heaviest or biggest wave we have seen Paddleboarders enjoying, Lanes stands out for being such a perfect long ride and offers big walls perfect for drawn out cutbacks.
The 3 Naish riders certainly had a great session, with plenty of waves all round and the footage captured purely by a drone shows perfectly how long a ride Lanes offers and how many turns and tricks the riders are able to squeeze in. The three minute clip is available for viewing below and you can find out more about Naish boards and the Naish team here.
