If you are looking for a new way to keep in trim and get fit, or love Surfing so much that you want to do it all day, even on dry land, then a new fitness craze sweeping the USA may be right up your alley. The workout classes of Spinning and Zumba are so last year and the sport of Surfset is rapidly gaining in popularity and availability.
Surfing fanatic and company CEO, Mike Hartwick came up with the Surfset concept after realising how good Surfing was for his overall fitness and physique and wanted something to help keep his body conditioned in between surfs. The Surfset trainer is kind of a cross between a balance ball and an Indo board and basically consists of a Surfboard mounted on some wobbly bits! The Surfset is designed to simulate the feel of riding a surfboard on a real wave.
As well as the option to attend one of the many Surfset classes that are springing up globally, you also have the option to purchase a RipSurfer X board for 550 USD and then you can workout until the cows come home in the comfort of your own home and with the guidance of the Surfset online video workout network.
The classes look like they are a lot of fun and accessible to all ages, and there is no doubt in my mind that this could be used for simple cardio training or equally for a very demanding workout. It will also be a fantastic aid in strengthening the body’s core and would take Yoga to the next level for keen enthusiasts.
