Now that the summer is upon us and the days are nearly at their longest, the swells that graced our shores through our darker months are growing rarer and smaller. Just because the Surf may be lacking a little bit in size does not mean that you cannot go out and have some fun on it, you just need a bigger board or one with a bit more float and this is demonstrated perfectly by Edouard Delpero in a classy video of him and his friends playing on small waves at Noosa Heads, Australia.
Edouard was down in Queensland last winter with Clement Fournier, Antoine Delpero and Remy Amaruzo and the four of them had a blast on the waist high waves on the Sunshine Coast. Riding a variety of boards from a finless alaia, a longboard and a short board, the crew excelled whatever the craft.
The video below goes to show how much fun small waves can be, the variety of boards that can be used and just how good they can be ridden by the right person. So while the sun is shining and the evenings are long, take inspiration from this clip and make the most of every little opportunity you have and enjoy every wave you get.
