Hot on the heels of his record breaking open ocean paddle this week, Chris Bertish is now heading to the San Diego Surf Film Festival to attend the premier of his own film – Ocean Driven. The Chris Bertish Story is a movie documentary charting the South African surfer’s journey to becoming one of the most respected big wave riders on the planet.
The movie has taken 4 years to reach fruition and details the incredible passion, self belief, hard work and determination that took Chris from a respected South African surfer to the winner of the Mavericks Invitational in 2010 in what is still considered the biggest waves ever seen in the history of the event. Commentated by the likes of Mark Healy, Kelly Slater, Greg Long and Gary Linden, Ocean Driven is one of only 24 films to be shown at the festival and is a gritty true story that will appeal to everyone.
The movie will be on general release in South Africa from November after touring the USA film market and will be accompanied by the release of Chris’ book “Stoked” in August.
