When a company has so much faith in their own product, that they are happy to slam a bowling ball into it over and over again to prove how tough it is, you know that it has to be good. That is exactly what SUP manufacturer Pau Hana have been doing, to demonstrate just how tough their new Paddleboards constructed with Ricochet Impact Resistant Technology really are.
Pau Hana glass a specially formulated membrane into their boards to create the Ricochet Impact Resistant Technology, which is designed to armour the board and protects against impacts with rocks, other boards, paddles and bowling balls as proven in the video below! To demonstrate just how good their Ricochet protection is, Pau Hana invited visitors at a recent trade show to swing a 17lb bowling ball into one of their 11′ Big EZ paddleboards.
The video reveals that the ‘bowlers’ were certainly enthusiastic and weren’t holding back and following approximately 150 hits with the ball, the board was still ding free. Quite refreshing, considering I seem to smash holes in my paddleboards just carrying them to the waters edge! You can find see the full range of Pau Hana boards and find out more about Ricochet protection by checking out their website here. Would you feel confident enough to swing a bowling board into your own board and do you like to see manufacturers putting their money where their mouths are and proving just how good their products are with ‘outside the box’ testing?
