The Nixon Ultratide watch is a timepiece that stands out from the crowd, with the ability to deliver real time information to your wrist by working in tandem with Surfline, the global surf forecaster. Using Bluetooth technology, the Ultratide will give you access to real time information including wave height, swell direction, tide times, wind speed and ocean and air temperatures – allowing you use this information to instantly make the most of current conditions.
All of a sudden the tide watches that we have all seen and used over the last decade, seem extremely dated and limited and the Ultratide is a watch that will take us into 2015 with live information that you can customise to bring you alerts from your favourite spots. The Ultratide will also allow you to share information from your session using the Ultratide App, and sync’s effortlessly with your phone.
The Ultratide will bring you 10 times more information than previous tide watches and because it uses Bluetooth technology, you can forget about having to lug around charging kits and syncing leads. The Ultratide will be available in the Spring of 2105 with an expected price tag of $280 and you can find out more and sign up for regular Nixon updates here. The official Nixon Ultratide teaser video is embedded below and features Rob Machado trialling the watch. Do you think the Ultratide will change your sessions and do you like the idea of accessing up to date Surfline information on your wrist?
