Giant inflatable SUP’s have been gaining in popularity over the last couple of years and are a great way to bring friends together for a communal paddle. Jamie O’Brien and his pals are well known for paddling into massive waves on theirs and today we bring you a video of a giant paddleboard being ridden, 6 up, down a storm drain in North Vancouver.
The crew involved were in the Lions Bay area and spent a couple of days goofing about at the drainage channel with kayaks, paddleboards and snowboards before wheeling out the big gun. It is quite surprising to see how quick a 17ft paddleboard can move with 6 grown men on board and with gravity helping out!
The whacky 8 minute video can be seen below and is guaranteed to make you smile, especially when the local groms wheel out the fiercest spud gun we have ever seen! Would you like to try giant SUP surfing down a drain or do you think the crew in the video were being reckless and lucky not to hurt themselves?
