The use of drones for capturing some amazing Surf footage is becoming evermore popular and over the last year we have seen some lovely edits doing the rounds, but the latest one we have seen featuring European Longboard Champion, Ben Skinner is a cut above the rest. The use of the state of the art, 6 rotor, Hexacopter coupled with Ben’s natural skills on his Longboard are a guaranteed recipe for success.
Filmed on behalf of BT Sport, by Tim Boydell and James Keith of Skyhawk Aerial Imaging, the video is a delight to watch from the moment Ben effortlessly steps off a Jet Ski and straight onto his board, and immediately starts shredding on his way to shore.
The Hexacopter gives such a unique perspective of the waves and the Surfing, it really adds to the sense of drama and excitement of the session. Seeing the beach of Crantock from the air also adds a whole new dimension to the low level view you normally get when you are there.
To savour this sophisticated little video, make sure you take a look at the BT Sport link here, and enjoy the footage captured by the drone. Let us know if you have ever seen a better take off on a wave and if you think that drone footage is revolutionising Surf movies?
