Any Bodyboarders out there who have a penchant for the classic boards of the 1980’s when the sport was in it’s heyday, or any who are intrigued by the templates of the era, may be interested to know that Sniper Bodyboards have released a Tribute Series in a nod to those heady days. Some of the iconic boards of the era that filled the pages of Bodyboard Magazine and featured on the posters that graced many walls, have been reproduced with todays modern materials.
The Sniper Tribute Series has been put together by team riders Jose Otavio, Gastao Entrudo, Igor Sanchez, Goncalo Campos and Fred & Tao Compagnon and deliberately copies classics by BZ, Turbo and Morey Boogie. Whether you are a cold water surfer or enjoy tropical waters, there is a board to suit you. There are also templates for the prone rider, drop knee’er or for those who like to mix it up a little.
To see the full range and the specs of the DK Tribute Series, the T7 Series and the MP Series browse the Sniper website here. Whilst there are no boards with retractable skegs, golf ball slicks, wingers and banana like rockers the Bodyboards in the Tribute Series certainly look authentic and will certainly hold up a lot better than the boards of the 80’s. What board in the Tribute Series would you like to get your hands on and what other classic Bodyboards would you like to see reproduced with todays modern materials?
