We are always keen to see new projects launched, especially ones that promote sustainability or are environmentally friendly and one we have seen that is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter has particularly caught our eye. A new Surf wax from Stinger Surf Brand is a sustainable surfboard wax made on the North Shore of Hawaii from beeswax and coconut oil.
The team behind Stinger Surf Wax are passionate bee keepers and surfers and 5% of all proceeds will go to establishing new hives and backers and fans of the wax can apply to receive help in setting up their own hive. Stinger surf wax is poured into honeycomb shaped moulds, in a nod to bees who helped make it, and is packed in re-cycled paper.
The Kickstarter campaign has got off to a flyer and the team are already over half way to their $10 000 goal, with 42 backers getting behind the project. With 23 days still left to pledge you too have plenty of time to get involved and can make a donation over at the Kickstarter page. If the boys receive a total of 3000 backers they have promised to dress in Bee costumes and make a human catapult to be launched from the top of a cliff!
