We find that our readers cannot get enough of Surfing animals and in particular Surfing dogs, so some may be pleased to hear that for the 9th year running the Surf Dog Surf–A-Thon is back and heading to San Diego on September 7th 2014. The event at Del Mar is well established and an important fund raiser for the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
The annual event attracts crowds and spectators in the many thousands and is truly a family orientated day out down at Dog Beach Del Mar. Organizers say there will be up to 100 participants for the Surf-A-Thon and this year sees the first ever Paddle Paws Parade which is a dog friendly Paddleboard event that anyone, once registered can join in with.
There will also be over 70 sponsors and traders on site for all your doggie needs and looking at videos from past years this is a wonderful day out for everyone. To find out more information or to even book your pooch in for the Paws Paddle Parade or a Dog Surf Lesson then head to the official Helen Woodward website. The highlights from 2013 are shown in a clip below this article. Let us know if you have you ever taken your dog Surfing?
