The London Surf Film Festival is drawing nearer and we have been taking a look at some of the entries to The Shorties category and one in particular has caught or eye. The Festival is being held between the 9th and 12th of October and you have until the 14th of September to get involved and submit your vote for your favourite film Short. The Shorties is a way of promoting homegrown filmmaking and this year sees 18 entries going head to head for your vote.
We have been having a look through this years submissions and one in particular caught our eye, 5mm by Roger Sharp. The 3-minute clip follows Oli Adams as he searches the coldest corners of the UK, hunting down some perfect gems. The video is beautiful shot and edited and the haunting track Abandon Window by Jon Hopkins fits the mood of the clip perfectly.
To see all of the entries for The Shorties 2014 have a look at the official London Surf Film Festival page here and we have embedded the video that gets our vote below this article for you to have a look at. Let us know what you think of 5mm and also what other clips have caught your eye or swung your vote?
