After reporting just a couple of weeks ago on the impressive progress being made at Surf Snowdonia and the staff recruitment process well underway, more exciting news has been revealed, with the announcement that Rip Curl have signed a major partnership deal with the Dolgarrog development. The partnership will see Rip Curl supplying the wetsuits for the Surf Academy and will also secure visits from the Rip Curl Pro team to the UK’s first Wavegarden surf lagoon.
The deal will ensure the anticipated 75 000 visitors a year will be kitted out in the latest and warmest wetsuits from one of the worlds leading wetsuit manufacturers and will see the lakeside glass fronted retail outlet packed with the latest clothing and accessories from Rip Curl.
Other news revealed this week includes the announcement that the bowl of the lagoon which covers an area approximately the size of 6 football pitches, has been sculpted and will start to be filled with Welsh mountain water by the end of May. The team on site also received a visit from Ken Skates who is the Welsh Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, who cast his eye over proceedings and was briefed on the anticipated visitor numbers and the sites impressive sustainability credentials.
