Many of us older UK Surfers never thought we would see the day that we had an inland surfing lagoon here on our home soil, so when the news broke that we were to see the building of a Wavegarden in Snowdonia, there were some who took it with a pinch of salt. However the doubters and naysayers now have a big dollop of egg on their face as it seems that progress is well underway up in North Wales.
The Snowdonia Wavegarden project is due to open in Summer 2015 and if the official Surf Snowdonia video, that you can find below this article, is to be believed then construction is in full swing. The video clip shows the site has been cleared and levelled and the heavy machinery such as concrete crushers, bulldozers and rollers have been busy preparing the groundworks.
The clip shows the various stages of work through to week 16 and it is pleasing to see such a hive of industry and the reality of a wave park in the UK getting that much nearer. You can keep up to date with all the news of the Surf Snowdonia Wave Garden by heading over to official news page here. Let us know if you are getting excited thinking about Surf Snowdonia and are you pleased to see so much progress already being made?
