On December 13th Fistral Beach, Newquay will be hosting the Santa Foamie Surfing Contest, which is a competition that is open to all and you can expect to see some well known surfing names in attendance. The contest is being held to raise money for the Joe Way Appeal, and as the name suggests, will involve competitors taking part on foam surfboards and wearing Santa outfits!
The competition will get underway at 9.30am and as well as men and womens open contests there is also a section for the Under 16’s to get involved as well. Any money raised will go to the Joe Way appeal, which is a charity set up in the memory of a young local lad named Joe Way who passed away in 2008.
The surfing Santas will be competing for prizes including a 2 night stay at Tolcarne Beach or £100 spend at The Stables. Entry is only £15 per person and for that you get the use of a foam board and your own Santa suit, which is yours to keep!
The event will be a blast for all involved – either in the water or spectating on the beach, and if you are in the area make sure you get yourselves down there and support this wonderful event. If you would like to enter and be a part of the fun, call 01637 850737 or enter online here. Will you be entering or spectating and have you ever worn fancy dress to surf before?
