When I was six years old, I was missing my front teeth, liked watching Captain Caveman and played with Action Man figures, I didn’t even know about Surfing and had no desire to get on a board and paddle out into the ocean. Six year old Quincy Symonds is a different kettle of fish altogether and the Tweeds Head grom is a regular at Snapper Rocks and not only is an incredible little Surfer, but an excellent Skateboarder too.
With the nickname The Flying Squirrel, little Quincy rides without any fear and with her pigtails flowing, throws both her Skateboard and Surfboard around like a seasoned Pro. Mind you, she has now been Surfing a third of her life, since starting at the tender age of 4!
The video below, shows Quincy out Surfing at her home break, in head high waves and also killing a local bowl on her skateboard, as her Mum and Dad explain her troubled arrival in this world and the steroid medicine that she has to take 3 times a day. Quincy Symonds is a name that you will be hearing a lot more of in the future and at this rate will be taking on Alana and Bethany in no time at all. Enjoy the heart warming clip below and let us know what you think of Quincy’s talents and what age did you start Surfing at?
