I have been taking a look at the latest offering from YouRiding, the free to download sports video game company. The latest release is called The Journey and is a Bodyboard game that I have to say I think it is their best yet. Bodyboard fans will be familiar with previous YouRiding Bodyboard games including Battle and YouRiding IV, all good in their own right but not a patch on The Journey where you travel the world, building your skills and can eventually surf at over 300 spots.
The Journey is available to download free from Google Play and the App Store and is completely addictive. Pierre Louis Costes is the poster boy for The Journey and the after downloading; it is PLC who guides you through the basic game play and controls in the tutorial. As well as hints and tips from various pros, The Journey also features a local rider who will also offer tips related to his local spot.
As mentioned previously there are 300 waves for you to explore including the likes of The Wedge, Pipeline, El Fronton and Teahupoo as you wind your way across the world map with 26 regions to unlock. One of the best features of The Journey is the option to customize your own avatar and upgrade your equipment to allow you to ride your favourite boards, wear your favourite fins and even choose different boardshorts and wetsuits! Brands include Hubboards, Science, Pride and more.
The gameplay is the most realistic yet and after some practice and guidance from pros including Jeff Hubbard and Mike Stewart you will soon be busting inverts, ARS, backflips and air forwards. As you play the game you earn YR cash and this allows you to upgrade your equipment, but there is the option for ‘In App’ purchasing to get better gear quickly.
You can find out more about YouRiding The Journey at the official website here and can see the official trailer below this article.
