Big wave surfer, tow pioneer and all round waterman Laird Hamilton has revealed that he is human after all and that he has undergone surgery to have a replacement hip fitted.
Giant waves continued to unload at Jaws as the week went on and some of the best watermen in the world couldn’t resist the opportunity to don their wetsuits and dig out the paddleboards, tow surfboards, windsurf boards and kite gear.
The Stand Up World Tour will be visiting 6 of the worlds best surf destinations and the Racing Series has been geared up to test the athletes in a wide range of conditions and disciplines
The competition will head to wherever the conditions favour for each discipline and will be broadcast globally via social media and is expected to be watched by up to 50 million spectators
