The beach resort of Sopot is found edging the Baltic Sea in Northern Poland and is famed for having the longest wooden pier in Europe as well as being a popular health spa. It also features the SB53 Skimpark, a purpose built haven for beginners and expert skimmers alike. With a selection of removable obstacles the Skimpark can be adjusted to allow for a huge range of tricks from all level of rider.
The pool’s can be cleared to allow basic flat landing skills to be learnt and developed and it is good to see the groms lined up and participating in Skimboard lessons, what parent wouldn’t mind taking their child to Skimboard lessons on a Saturday morning on a sun kissed beach?
For the more accomplished and confident Skimmer, there is a wide range of obstacles and ramps that can be placed anywhere around the pool to keep the Park feeling fresh and exciting. There are basic blocks and pipes for the Skimboarders to ollie onto or over, and plenty of sliding obstacles to savour. The biggest obstacle is a kicker ramp, not far off of a quarter pipe and some of the lip tricks demonstrated are pretty slick.
