Kai Lenny has featured on Surf-Report a couple of times in recent weeks but the latest clip of him on his Sup at Jaws is far too good to ignore. The three times Stand Up World Tour champion has a strong kinship with Jaws and as mentioned before seems to be able to ride anything with undeniable style.
In the clip below, Kai talks about his relationship with the awesome big wave spot of Jaws and how one wave in particular lined up better than he could have ever imagined and Kai managed to get the tube of his life. Even as he paddled for the wave, he wasn’t sure if it was going to let him in, but persevered to score a perfect barrel.
This particular session also saw Kai take on one monstrous wave that has now earned him a shot at the Billabong XXL award; this is a first for a Stand Up Paddleboarder, although it most definitely won’t be the last. The video is worth checking out to hear mild mannered Kai revealing just what it is like to be tucked under the lip at Jaws. Something most of us can only ever dream about.
