Not since the age of 8 when I unwrapped my Evel Kneivel Stunt Cycle on Christmas morning, have I been as excited as I was when I saw todays featured video. As a massive fan of the Back to the Future trilogy, the one thing that I have always wished for more than anything else is a Hoverboard. Now it seems my prayers have been finally answered and this clip proves the Hoverboard is real.
O.K. so the boards in the video are not exactly the same as the ones Marty and Biff flew about on in Back to the Future 2, but they’re about as close as we’re likely to get and they sure do look like they are an incredible amount of fun. Powered by an immense jet of water fed to the board by a trailing hose, the boards and riders are reaching unbelievable heights and demonstrating some pretty outrageous tricks.
The technology has been around a while. we have seen people with water jet boots before but adding the board and changing the riding stance has been a revelation and opened up a whole new world. I am already gagging to try this out and hope it will be a sport that catches on and reaches out to the masses.
The idea of finally being able to Hoverboard is exciting and we would love to hear from anyone who has been lucky enough to actually try this new concept. Make sure you check out the video below and we would love to hear of any other futuristic ideas you would like to see come to fruition?
